Malton Festival Of Racing

Definitly Red: lives in the out-door stables

We are delighted to be part of the Malton Festival of Racing experience and will be opening our doors today from 9am until 12noon.

Our friendly team will be easily identifiable wearing black jackets with logo’s and will be more than happy to answer any questions, chat and/or point you in the right direction of your favourite horse or preferred facility. The Water Walker is well worth viewing or why not have a wander down to our open-air stables from which we have enjoyed huge success. Grand National contender, Definitly Red and Forest Bihan, who was beaten a head in the Grade 1 Doom Bar Maghull Novices' Chase at Aintree this year, are among the horses who reside in these stables.

Brian Ellison Racing Club website soon to be launched

Another exciting project, and soon to be officially launched, is the Brian Ellison Racing Club and flyers with information on this, including cost and benefits, will be available here at the yard.

Name The Horse: a lovely yearling filly by Harbour Watch

We are also holding a ‘Name the Horse’ competition so look out for the picture of this lovely yearling filly and put your suggestions in the box with your name and address and name suggestion.

Top Notch Tonto: back for the Open Day

Top Notch Tonto is back for the Open Day! A huge favourite with everyone, he has made a return visit to Spring Cottage Stables especially for today. He has been on holiday at his owners and will return there in the next day or so. Plans are still up in the air as to whether we’ll see him back in training next year but we thought this was the perfect opportunity for his adoring fans to get up close to him once again. He loves the fuss and will, no doubt, enjoy being the centre of attention yet again! Thanks to his owner Keith, who did not hesitate when asked if Tonto could return for the open day.

While we hope everyone has a thoroughly enjoyable visit the health and safety of our horses, team and guests is paramount therefore we ask if everyone would please observe and follow the safety signs. All horses may bite or kick so caution must be used.

On arrival and when leaving the premises please use the hand sanitizers which are provided to help prevent cross contamination of any germs.

We are a strictly NO SMOKING yard and ask for all dogs to be kept on leads.

Thank you in advance for your co-operation and we hope you have a safe and most enjoyable day.

Please note there will be no access for vehicles and a Park & Ride service will be available from Malton Market Place.
