MAHLERDRAMATIC wins hurdling debut & is 100th Winner of 2016

MAHLERDRAMATIC, off the track over a year, made an impressive winning seasonal reappearance taking the 2m½f Novices’ Hurdle at Doncaster on Saturday in good style in the hands of Nathan Moscrop.

Making all, he travelled strongly throughout and stayed on well to the line to post a six-length victory despite running green and jumping slightly to his right. It was a very pleasing hurdling debut and he was our 100TH WINNER (combined Flat & Jumps) of 2016...

RAVENHILL ROAD remains unbeaten

RAVENHILL ROAD followed up his impressive victory on his rules debut at Market Rasen with an equally smart success in the 2m½f National Hunt Flat Race for Conditional’s and Amateur’s at Doncaster this afternoon. Kaine Wood was back on board and, always well positioned just in behind the leader, travelled strongly throughout. Taking it up with over two furlongs to run he stayed on well to score by four-and-a-half lengths...

MYTHICAL MADNESS takes the claimer at Wolverhampton

MYTHICAL MADNESS made his debut for us a winning one taking the 1m½f Claiming Stakes in good style at Wolverhampton yesterday evening.

Dale Swift partnered the five-year-old Dubawi gelding, previously owned by Goldolphin, and gave him a good ride from off the pace, to take it up inside the final furlong. He stayed on well to the line to score by two lengths from the 5/6f Ready...

SHEARLING stays on well to win racecourse debut

SHEARLING made a winning racecourse debut staying on well to take the Fillies’ Junior Bumper at Warwick yesterday.

Partnered by Kaine Wood, she was well positioned in between horses just in behind the leading pair as they set off at a crawl. As the pace gradually increased, she met trouble in running a couple of times and became unbalanced before getting going to make good headway a furlong out. She stayed on well, mostly under hands and heels, to get up by a head in the final strides...

EYES OF A TIGER wins at Wetherby

EYES OF A TIGER made all to take the two-mile Handicap Hurdle (a qualifier for the Two Mile Hurdle Series) at Wetherby yesterday.

Nathan Moscrop (pictured), who rides this lad out at home, partnered Phil Martin’s five-year-old who can be quite keen on occasion. But fitted with the hood, and allowed an easy lead, he bowled a long in front, jumped well and kept on to the line to post a two-and-a-half length victory; the rest of the field never getting in a blow. It was a good ride by Nathan who was thrilled to be riding a winner for the team, in the familiar colours of owner Phil Martin, on a horse he rides at home regularly, on Channel 4 Racing!

PISTOL PARK stays on well to score at Newcastle

PISTOL PARK is now two wins from three starts since joining the stable this summer following success in the 2m½f Novices' Handicap Chase at Newcastle yesterday.

Brian Hughes partnered the five-year-old... Back down in trip, he jumped the first in front before settling in behind Lake View Lad who went on to make the running, setting a decent enough gallop. Pistol Park travelled well to take the lead again four from home. He battled gamely from there and flew the last when a good jump was needed, staying on well up the run-in to score by one-and-a-half lengths...

Winning chasing debut for FOREST BIHAN

FOREST BIHAN got off the mark over fences at the first attempt taking the two-mile Novices’ Chase at Towcester in good style, yesterday afternoon.

Partnered by Brian Hughes, he tracked the leading pair for much of the race, jumping and travelling well throughout; travelling particularly strongly into the second last. Taking it up between the final two fences, he stayed on well to score by two-and-a-quarter lengths...

APTERIX off the mark over fences

APTERIX got off the mark over fences, on what was only his second outing over the bigger obstacles, taking the feature 2m3½f Handicap Chase at Sedgefield yesterday.

Danny Cook gave Phil Martin’s six-year-old a great ride, settling in behind the leaders, never too far off the pace, before moving up into second as they jumped four from home. Travelling strongly, Apterix moved alongside the leader, Blakemount, as they approached three out...

DEFINITLY RED stayed on well to win on seasonal reappearance

DEFINITLY RED got his 2016/17 campaign off to the best possible start with a decisive victory in the 2m4f Handicap Hurdle at Carlisle yesterday.

Danny Cook gave Phil Martin’s seven-year-old a great ride, kicking for home four out having always been up with the pace. Definitly Red was, as always, game and willing, staying on strongly to win by three and a quarter lengths from Onefitzall...

BALLYCRYSTAL, VOLVALIEN & G’DAY AUSSIE - a treble at Sedgefield

It was a cracking day at Sedgefield yesterday with three winners in addition to three good placed performances including second and third in the Durham National with Five In A Row and Jac The Legend respectively.

It was BALLYCRYSTAL who got our day off to a flyer however taking the 2m5f Novices’ Hurdle in good style under Danny Cook... We were delighted to win the Brian Ellison Racing Chase with VOLVALIEN who got off the mark over fences at the third attempt...
