TOSCAN GENIUS took the 1m4Β½f Handicap with ease at Newcastle on Friday (Sept 8th 2023). Ben partnered the six-year-old who was settled on the inside towards the rear of the field before making progress three from home. Taking the lead a furlong out, he stayed on strongly to score by three lengths.

Off the track since May 2021, the lightly-raced Deep Impact gelding ran well and improved for his first two outings for us last month before getting his head in front for the first time on Friday.

EXPLORERS WAY followed up in the last race on Newcastle’s card, four hours later, with a length success in the one-mile Handicap. Ben was on board Patrick Boyles four-year-old who was also notching up his first success. Always travelling nicely up with the pace, he took the lead inside the final furlong and kept on well to the line.

Congratulations to all connections.
