EAGLE PRINCE made his hurdling debut a winning one when landing the 2m1f Juvenile Maiden Hurdle at Sedgefield on Tuesday (Oct 3rd 2023).
Henry Brooke partnered Keith Browns three-year-old who put in a gutsy performance to hold on by a neck. A winner on the flat earlier in the season it was great to see him back in the winner’s enclosure.
In a chat with Matt Rennie of the Racing Post, Henry said afterwards: “It was a bit eventful. I got bumped everywhere and wasn’t sure what was helping me. He had plenty of ability on the Flat and Brian thinks he could be better rated if you got the same horse every day with him.”
