Having been knocking on the door in recent weeks, Mademoiselle Belle got the win she has been aiming for, under a great ride by Ben Robinson at Newcastle on Saturday night. She had been unlucky at the track earlier in the week, when she got wiped out by another horse at the start, but this time she stayed out of trouble. She was in rear but Ben switched her to the right to make headway from 2f out. They led 1f out and ran on inside the final furlong to win by 1 1/2 lengths.

Despite lacking a bit of fluency in his jumping, Tashkhan also ran a great race on Saturday when he finished 3rd in a Grade 2 Novice Hurdle race at Haydock at odds of 20/1.
