Members of Brian Ellison Racing Club were back in the winners enclosure for the 66th time, when Captain Potter won in impressive style at Pontefract under a positive ride by apprentice jockey Shay Farmer. Having tracked the leader, he took the lead over 2f out and was ridden clear to win by 6 lengths. Captain Potter has shown how tough he is, having survived two severe bouts of colic over the past couple of years, one of which required surgery to save his life. He is a special horse!
