We were delighted to get a double up on Thursday courtesy of VICTORIANO at Wolverhampton and OSCAR DOODLE at Chelmsford.

VICTORIANO (pic) was given a good ride by 3lb claimer Billy Loughnane to land the 2mΒ½f handicap by half a length at Wolverhampton on Thursday afternoon.

The seven-year-old gelding was following up a good second over 1m6f at the track 13 days earlier when fitted with blinkers for the first time for us. Stepping back up in trip, we kept the blinkers on and together with Billy’s 3lb claim, Victoriano stayed on well in the final furlong to win a tad comfortably in the end.

Congratulations to owner Leigh Taylor. And a great ride by Billy who was notching up his first winner for us. Hopefully there’s plenty more to come.

OSCAR DOODLE followed up three and a half hours later in the 1m2f Handicap at Chelmsford. Ben (Robinson) partnered the four-year-old who travelled well in behind the leading pair, on the inner, before being pushed along two out. He battled gamely the last quarter mile, and kept on well to score by a neck.

Oscar Doodle was scoring for the second time this year and congratulations to owner Victoria Watt.
