BACKBYJET WINS HIS FIRST CHASE

Backbyjet made all to win his first chase, which came at Hexham yesterday, in the ‘Merrill Group Pressing To Win Handicap Chase.’ It was his first with cheek pieces fitted and he looked to enjoy himself out in front, although he still looked a bit lazy at times. Given a great ride by Craig Nichol, he was challenged approaching the last, but he was kept up to his work and ran on gamely towards the finish, to win by a neck.
