The decision has been made to retire Definitly Red after his run in the Grand National yesterday. He jumped the fences really well but was tired when Ryan Mania pulled him up before the second last. 4m2f just a bit too far. But he came home safe and sound which was the one thing we all hoped for.
Andy has ridden and looked after Red since he joined us towards the end of 2014, along with Ally who has kept her watchful eye on him down in his βoutdoor stableβ. Andy is both relieved he has retired in once piece and thrilled at the prospect of giving him a wonderful retirement. A well-deserved holiday has already begun.
We, along with owners Phil & Julie Martin, have been honoured to have had such a fabulous horse in the yard. He has given us all so much pleasure, so many exciting days and he owes us nothing.Β He will be missed. A lot.
He has had an amazing following too and we would like to thank everyone who has supported and followed Red throughout his career. It has meant a lot. And warmed our hearts.
He may now be retired from racing but weβre sure his new life with Andy will be just as exciting, enjoyable and rewarding. Watch this space!
